66°North Celebrates 99 Years With Its Most Exclusive Capsule To Date
The Icelandic brand is reimagining two classics, and making exactly 99 units of each.
99 is the new 100, if Icelandic outerwear label 66°North is anything to go by. To celebrate 99 years of technical excellence, the brand is dropping an extremely limited-edition capsule collection, and flipping the script (both literally and figuratively) by turning its “66” logo upside down into a “99” in honor of the milestone.
The collection itself pays homage to 66°North’s legacy of crafting the toughest outerwear for the toughest climates. Featuring two of the brand’s most celebrated waterproofs – the Snæfell Neoshell and Vatnajökull Softshell jackets – the anniversary drops will be produced in a limited run of, you guessed it, only 99 pieces available worldwide. Matching Snæfell and Vatnajökull trousers complete the technical offerings, while the collection also includes a minimalist hoodie and T-shirt, available in two classic colorways: “Walrus” and “Black”.
Over the course of a century, the brand has built up a significant following in its home ground, so in a fitting tribute, the campaign was shot in Reykjavík by Icelandic photographer Anna Maggý, featuring locals as models. A touching ode to “the community that’s carried us through nearly a century of weather and change,” per the brand.
Whether you’re scaling glaciers or navigating a concrete jungle, 66°North’s superpower remains its extreme functionality and everyday versatility; equal parts style and strength.
The capsule is available to purchase at the 66°North website.
