3 Things You Might've Missed in Pharrell’s VIRGINIA Drop

Meet, VIRGINIA — literally.

Producer and Louis Vuitton creative director Pharrell announces a new venture.

“Virginia is where I’m from, but it’s also who I am creatively. It’s my space to dream, and a way to connect with people who are dreaming too,” Williams stated. According to the press release, the name references his hometown and now acts as his creative alias, too.

Essentially, VIRGINIA is Williams’ new side quest that doubles as a brand, pseudonym and community platform. The announcement features a brand new website — with what seems to be Pharrell’s adult swim vision for Virginia. Unlike most websites, when you click, the page doesn’t scroll downwards; it moves from side to side, revealing more of VIRGINIA from women to new drops.

Remember the anonymous album BLACK YACHT ROCK VOL 1 that was released in 2024? That was all Pharrell and now, the project will live under the VIRGINIA alias.

Speaking of drops, the brand-slash-community platform released the news with a debut collection. The limited-edition drop includes surfboards, swimwear and other beach essentials, all the way to home items, “each emblazoned with the bold VIRGINIA mark.”

The news follows rapper Kendrick Lamar‘s announcement that he and pgLang co-founder Dave Free launched a new agency — with better resources — named the Project 3 Agency. Elsewhere, singer SZA was just appointed the artistic director of Vans, potentially signaling a new creative era for musicians.

Stay tuned for updates and take a look at the collection above.
