OPEN YY Returns to Childhood for SS26
Channeling the nostalgia of playgrounds and uniforms.
A childhood playground, a parent picking you up from school, the first time you put on a uniform, these intimate moments often live on as powerful memories, instantly triggering a rush of nostalgia. OPEN YY taps into these universal sentiments with its Spring/Summer 2026 collection titled “Frames.”
The collection takes shape from one blurry childhood photograph, capturing an everyday world that is long gone and yet deeply familiar. This sense of faded memory is translated into modern silhouettes with a fragmented, raw edge. Think unfinished seams, soft curves and gently rounded shapes that feel worn-in. Light pink floral prints bloom across pants, stockings and boots, while a graphic tee featuring cartoon-like imagery nods to youthful innocence. Elsewhere, a darker palette grounds the collection, appearing on structured suiting and knitwear for a more refined, mature contrast. The result is a dreamy flashback reimagined as a contemporary wardrobe.
Founded in Seoul in 2020 by sisters Jiyoung and Boyoung Kim, OPEN YY is rooted in ideas of sisterhood, shared memory and personal history. Drawing from their own upbringing, the designers continue to weave intimacy into every collection.
