Nike and Procell Go Vintage With the Heirloom Total 90 Sneaker
Paying homage to old tournaments and plastic-covered sofas.
Nike bringing back the Total 90 as a lifestyle sneaker is the second best thing to happen to blokecore. The first is the T90 collaboration with Procell. Introducing a vintage-inspired sneaker just before the World Cup kicks off, Nike teamed up with New York-based retailer Procell to launch the Heirloom Total 90, bringing retro footy vibes to one of the most popular sneaker silhouettes amongst lovers of the beautiful game.
The sneaker is a bold redesign of the classic football boot, arriving in a ’70s-inspired plaid print in chestnut brown and green. Drawing from the plastic-covered sofas generations of fans watched matches from, the glossy upper pays homage to those old, nostalgic pieces of furniture. The geometric design covers the entire upper, accented by a dark brown heel with Procell’s store information subtly etched into it.
The shoe’s trademark asymmetric laces are black, with a removable store tag looped into the top. The signature “90” on the instep and Nike Swoosh are a deep shade of brown, keeping the color palette vintage and earthy to offset the vibrant shades of summer.
The Heirloom Total 90 sneaker will be available to purchase exclusively at Procell’s New York store starting May 16.
In other news, Reebok’s new Angel Reese 1 sneaker is all about the Met Gala.
