The Vivienne Westwood Orb Is Getting Its Own V&A Exhibition
You can view four decades of punk-chic jewelry and archival tartans from next year.
Calling all fashion punks, Vivienne Westwood’s renowned jewelry is stepping into the museum spotlight. A major new exhibition, Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery, is officially making its UK debut at the V&A Dundee next year. Curated by the Westwood team, the show brings together four decades of archival runway gems for the first time, exploring the subversive design language that turned a simple Saturn orb into a global obsession.
From safety pins to pearls, Westwood always used jewelry to add major meaning and attitude to her clothes. Visitors will get an immersive look at this design history, complete with graphic wall collages, catwalk videos and a curated dialogue between the iconic trinkets and garments.
Even better, the exhibition celebrates the house’s deep love affair with Scotland. Creative director Andreas Kronthaler noted that Scotland has always been in their hearts, so expect plenty of archive looks showcasing traditional textiles and Kronthaler’s own “MacAndreas” tartan. It’s the ultimate tribute to Dame Vivienne Westwood’s extraordinary and rebellious creative legacy.
The exhibition opens on March 26, 2027, at the V&A Dundee.
