Vivienne Westwood Just Plastered Its Most Famous Silhouettes With Cherub Paintings
In a nod to the house’s long-standing love for European Rococo art.
Vivienne Westwood launched a limited-edition capsule titled “The Spring Cherubs,” plastering an 18th-century painting across its most famous silhouettes. The range lifts “Spring” (Le Printemps) from François Boucher’s 1753 Four Seasons series, bringing a mix of playful cherubs, billowing clouds and pastel blossoms to the collection. This is a classic nod to the house’s long-standing obsession with European Rococo art and ’90s archival runway moments.
The historical artwork is translated into both full-scale and repeating patterns across a mix of sharp tailoring and soft jersey pieces. Standout garments include the sharp Violin shirt and the Two Button Krall shirt, both crafted totally from organic cotton. True Vivienne Westwood stans will recognize the return of the Puppy Corset, now wrapped in the ethereal oil-on-canvas motif. For footwear and accessories, the brand reimagines its archival Roman Three Strap Sandal and the spacious Worker Runner Holdall with the same pastel graphic print. Each piece merges traditional Savile Row techniques with historical French salon culture. This is the ultimate dreamy collection for all the girls who keep their heads in the clouds.
The first chapter of the capsule is now available to shop via the Vivienne Westwood website.
