Cecilie Bahnsen's Latest ASICS Collaboration Is Going Full Bloom
With a sneaker inspired by flowers in motion.
Cecilie Bahnsen and ASICS are giving the sneaker a floral makeover. The Copenhagen designer reunited with ASICS SportStyle for the latest chapter of their ongoing collaboration, introducing the GEL-KINETIC FR. Inspired by the movement of flowers, from falling petals to growing stems, the new silhouette translates nature’s constant motion into a technical, fashion-forward sneaker.
Arriving in “Piedmont Grey Silver” and “Black Coffee,” the design combines ASICS’ performance-driven construction with Bahnsen’s signature romanticism. A micro-textured base is layered with glossy finishes, embossed and debossed floral motifs, flower charms and beads, while flower-shaped eyelets and Bahnsen’s signature drawcord lacing add a distinctly feminine touch.
Underfoot, ASICS’ sculptural GEL heel provides cushioning and impact absorption, while adjustable Velcro straps and a padded half tongue keep things practical.
For the campaign, artist and photographer Isabelle Wenzel plays with movement and abstraction, photographing fragmented bodies against the striking architecture of an open-air theatre in Copenhagen. The resulting imagery mirrors the sneaker’s playful energy, with limbs and silhouettes appearing to shift and reassemble across the frame.
The collaboration drops on September 12 via the ASICS website.
