ETRO Gives Bohemia a Sun-Soaked Update for SS27
Putting its familiar paisleys and subtle palette through a summer haze.
In Milan, ETRO just made Bohemia feel lighter for Spring/Summer 2027. Titled “ETRO HALO,” the collection took the Italian house’s signature paisleys, flowing silhouettes and earthy palette and put them through a summer haze, blurring, fading and reworking familiar codes until they almost disappeared.
The collection moved like a day in the sun, beginning with barely-there nude and powder tones before warming up into bright yellows and oranges. Cooler blues and greens followed, eventually giving way to burgundy, brown and black as the imaginary sun sets.
ETRO’s paisley was similarly stripped back. Prints appeared sunbleached and barely visible, while traditional motifs were broken apart into patches and washed-out patterns. The result felt less like a direct archive revival and more like ETRO remembering its own history through a slightly blurred lens.
That sense of movement ran through the silhouettes, too. Vaporous dresses skimmed the body before spilling into long trains, while fringe, sheer layers and translucent fabrics moved with every step. More grounded pieces like suede blousons, patched denim jackets and sharp tailoring also interrupted the softness.
The footwear stayed close to the ground, with ballerina flats, gladiator sandals and leaf-edged cone heels paired with slouchy boho bags. For SS27, ETRO wasn’t abandoning its bohemian DNA, it was simply letting it breathe.
