Blumarine Took the Cali-Girl to the Beach for SS27
In a collision of Y2K pop culture and surf-inspired pieces.
What happens when Blumarine’s signature romanticism gets a little sun? For Spring/Summer 2027, David Koma took the house’s feminine codes out of the boudoir and onto the California coast, imagining a sun-faded ingénue caught somewhere between beach girl and bombshell.
The collection looked to the cinematic image of the Cali girl, pulling from both 1970s bohemia and Y2K pop culture. Dusty pastels, soft silhouettes and lingerie-inspired layers set the tone, with camisoles transforming into floor-length robes, minidresses and blouses, while ruched jersey leggings and tops clung to the body like underwear.
That boudoir sensibility met a distinctly surf-inspired wardrobe. Swimsuit-like cut-outs appeared on jersey bodies, varsity tops featured “Blumarine Since Forever” slogans and a shearling surfer jacket brought a more laid-back edge. Foam-like ruching and watery sequins continued the beach theme, while florals bloomed across bombers, cardigans, Chantilly lace and sheer tulle.
Elsewhere, ostrich feathers, crystal butterflies and oversized gems pushed the collection back into that quintessential Blumarine glam, with silver floral harnesses adding an almost surreal edge. Even the accessories got a beach-ready makeover, with the brand reimagining UGG’s Enwrap Clogs with crystal-encrusted metal cages or delicate ostrich feathers, proving that for SS27, the Blumarine girl is ready for the beach, but she’s still going to dress up for it.
