Our Favorite Shows From London Fashion Week SS27, So Far

From Keburia’s political opener to eBay’s live-shopping runway.

After a packed New York Fashion Week with plenty of energy and chaos, the fashion crowd has landed in London. Known for its unruly creative spirit and ability to turn the unexpected into a runway moment, the British capital has once again become a playground for emerging talent, established names and designers who aren’t particularly interested in playing by the rules.

This season, the schedule comes with a few notable returns. McQueen is back in the big smoke under Seán McGirr, Mulberry returns with Christopher Kane at the helm and KNWLS is making its way back to the city after a brief cameo in Milan last season. Meanwhile, the city’s regular fixtures are keeping things interesting, with KEBURIA opening the week with a politically charged statement and H&M bringing some major celebrity power from day one.

From statement-making collections to the details that deserve a closer look, here’s our curated edit of the shows and moments defining London Fashion Week SS27.

KEBURIA

For SS27, KEBURIA brought its rule-breaking approach to menswear for the first time, with the opening look featuring a model walking down the runway with a guitar on his back, with the phrase “Hope you burn Putin” painted in red on the back. A strong opener from a brand always interested in pushing the boundaries. For the rest of the collection, precise tailoring was offset by exaggerated proportions, from sharp shoulders and architectural collars to oversized pockets and barely-there shorts. Drawing on the British countryside, equestrian codes and Western detailing, the collection mixed washed canvas and metallic tweed with custom jacquards and plenty of fringing (on everything from skirts to bags). We also saw the brand’s familiar nautical references embellished, giving the collection its signature theatrical edge.

MITHRIDATE

Attempting to recreate the unique creativity that a strict door policy brought, this season merged androgyny with flamboyance and everything in between. Pairing restrictive corsets with playful tutus, oversized rugby tops with underwear and military uniforms with mini skirts and stockings.

eBay

Taking us back to the days of shopping channels and making it fashion week, eBay had one of the most interactive shows of the season, and it’s only been a day. The annual ‘Endless Runway’ this time featured the wardrobes of London’s coolest creatives, like Adwoa Aboah, Harry Lambert and Isabella Burley and as models walked, guests were able to shop their pre-loved looks instantly. The same went for viewers at home, who could join the livestream from the click of a button, have their comments featured on the big screen at the show and shop the same looks.
