ICE Magazine Heads to Rio With Hailey Bieber
Posing nude for its first international issue.
Get ready to turn up the heat; ICE Magazine is going international. For its third volume, photographer and creative director Renell Medrano heads to Rio de Janeiro for the publication’s first edition outside the US, following previous issues set in New York and Atlanta.
The latest volume brings together a cast of Brazilian “ICE Girls,” including cover stars Hailey Bieber, Juliana Nalu, Tina Kunakey, Evellin Andrade and Alicia Thompson, alongside women discovered through ICE’s open casting calls. Shot across Rio, the issue moves between beaches, favelas and nightlife spots, capturing the city through the women who call it home.
At the heart of the issue is Medrano’s ongoing mission to create a space where women can see themselves represented on their own terms. In her cover story, Bieber speaks about her Brazilian heritage, her mother and family and the ways her roots have influenced her career, while reflecting on her longstanding friendship with Medrano.
Produced in partnership with WePresent, ICE Vol. 3 is available to download for free in both English and Portuguese. A portion of physical magazine sales will support the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Women in São Paulo, with Bieber matching the donation in full.
The result is part fashion magazine, part love letter to Brazilian womanhood and another chapter in Medrano’s expanding creative world.
