Chunky Sneakers Reign Supreme in Our Stockholm Fashion Week Streetsnaps

Featuring Acne Studios, Balenciaga, Eytys and more.

Not even the fact that Stockholm‘s streets were blanketed in fresh snow could stop the city’s most stylish showing up in droves for Fashion Week. Thanks to the cold snap, killer coats made for ideal centerpieces and extra-cozy, fuzzy outerwear was the key look – we spotted a faux fur delight from the from native brand, STAND, amongst others.

Although Scandinavian style is renowned for its minimalistic feel, there was plenty of color to be found, especially when it came to accessories. We peeped Balenciaga‘s graffiti-print Classic City bag, Gucci‘s Dionysus bag and of course, Virgil Abloh’s label Off-White™ made an appearance as both a belt and a custom camera strap.

Navigating those snowy streets can prove tricky, but attendees embraced the footwear trend that shows no signs of slowing down – chunky dad sneakers. The beloved Balenciaga Triple-S‘ were seen alongside Raf Simons’ Ozweegos, but it was homegrown talent that really stole the show as Acne Studios’ Manhattan and the ultra-bulky Angel by Eytys proved that Swedes really are on top of the sneaker game.

Peep our exclusive streetsnaps above and check out how they compared to last season’s Stockholm looks.
