Ariana Grande Just Quietly Dropped Her New Track, "imagine"

The follow up to “thank u, next.”

Ariana Grande‘s smash-hit single, “thank u, next” has been dominating our playlists recently and we’re still not quite over just how incredible the accompanying video was – there’s a reason it was the fastest video to ever reach 100 million views. It’s a tough act to follow on from such a universally-loved song but Ariana Grande has just quietly revealed her next track, “imagine.”

Announced on Grande’s Instagram account, “imagine” as the artist herself put it on Twitter is a song about “a simple, beautiful love that is now (and forever) unattainable.” The singer further elaborated, responding to a comment by fan to share that the track is about denial in a way, and imagining that an important relationship didn’t end. Although Grande doesn’t name-drop who she may be referring to – if anyone – in this case, unlike in her previous song.

You can listen to “imagine” now on most streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. Stay tuned for more updates; in the mean time, why not check out the second behind-the-scenes instalment from “thank u, next?”
