Has Vetements Teased Its Most Outrageous Sneakers Yet?

Inspired by ’90s rave culture.

Vetements may have just dropped another sock runner sneaker in white, but for those who favor more ostentatious footwear – you’re in luck. The controversial fashion brand has teased some ultra-chunky sneakers set to be released later this year.

In partnership with SWEAR London, a custom sneaker label, Vetements will produce a range of daring, bulky silhouettes inspired by ’90s rave culture and the London-based footwear brand’s alternative archive pieces. The iterations that have been teased so far include a black and yellow sneaker with a massively exaggerated midsole and Vetements branding upon the heel and black and white sneaker boots with honeycomb-style patterned panels an equally enormous sole. There’s also a versatile ankle-boot style sneaker in tonal black with hiking cord style laces and text logo branding on the back.

Details are scarce at the moment, but the brand first showcased this partnership during its Fall/Winter 2018 presentation so it’s likely they will drop toward the end of the year. Stay tuned for more info.
