Ava Nirui's Yves Saint Laurent Parody Hoodie Is an NYU Exclusive
Ain’t Laurent.
Having recently released a lineup of custom streetwear Barbie dolls with Stray Rats, DIY aficionado Ava Nirui has cooked up something new especially for a New York University event.
In conjunction with her and Mary Turpin‘s lecture “Disruptive Fashion” hosted at the prestigious institution, the Helmut Lang digital editor has created an exclusive hoodie featuring NYU branding. In true Ava Nirui fashion, she has parodied the iconic Yves Saint Laurent logo, replacing the name of the Parisian brand with “New York University.” Only NYU students will be able to get their hands on this limited-edition item, though, as the event is not open to the public.
Over the past few months, Nirui has also linked up with Marc Jacobs as well as the Museum of Modern Art to release her bootleg hoodie designs. If you would like to shop one of her creations, then be sure to take a look at her Keanu Reeves tribute collection launched with publishing house, IDEA. The range includes a printed T-shirt, cushions, a necklace and a softcover fanzine, which are all available for purchase now.
