Take a Closer Look at Nike's Chunky M2K Tekno Sneaker In "Phantom" And "Black Volt"

The reimagined dad sneaker is dropping soon.

The chunky dad shoe trend is going nowhere fast with the resurgence of Nike‘s OG bulky sneaker the Monarch and brands like FILA, Umbro and New Balance dropping their own oversized iterations. Nike’s newest addition to the lineup, the M2K Tekno, has already been proven a social media hit since news of its release was announced and now we can finally get a closer look at women’s-exclusive silhouette.

The M2K Tekno was first spotted during John Elliott’s Fall/Winter 2018 show at NYFW and has been revealed in two colorways, “Phantom” and “Black Volt.” The former consists of textured, angular panels in off-white tones with Swoosh detailing on the sides, tongue, midfoot and toe. The unit rests atop an exaggerated midsole in white with black and grey hits seeping in from the middle. A bold orange hit on the heel counter provides the only pop of color on this sneaker, with a matching Swoosh appearing on the insole.

The “Black Volt” version boasts all the same style details but in a tonal, dark hue. The bulky midsole appears in crisp white with a black outsole and the single vibrant color seen on this shoe is the pop of neon lime “Volt” upon the heel, mini Swoosh and heel tab.

Get a closer look at the on-trend runner above – It’s slated to release at select Nike Sportswear retailers on May 19, priced at $100 USD. Don’t forget to check out our list of the top 5 underrated dad sneakers.
