Leading lady of J.Cole’s Dreamville label Ari Lennox has returned with a sweet new summer single. The D.C. native’s PHO EP established her as one of the most talented voices in modern R&B. Her new single “Whipped Cream” features a smooth track that she riffs over with a catchy chorus. The song tells the story of a breakup that she can’t quite get over. She shares the inspiration behind the lyrics:
“‘Whipped Cream’ is my little baby that expresses how I feel about an ex that I’m still not over. He’s the same n***a that I talked about in PHO.”
