Vans Has Launched a Stunning Collection Featuring Van Gogh's Masterpieces
Featuring premium apparel, as well as the Sk8-Hi and Authentic silhouettes.
Art history buffs, rejoice – delivered via an unprecedented collaboration, a love of sneakers and art masterpieces has finally come together within a single collection. Teaming up with the Van Gogh Museum, Vans has unveiled a beautiful homage that celebrates the iconic works of the revered Dutch painter. “We are delighted with the Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection, as it ties in with our mission to make the life and work of Vincent van Gogh accessible to as many people as possible in order to enrich and inspire them”, said Adriaan Dönszelmann, Managing Director of the Van Gogh Museum. “By uniting Van Gogh’s iconic artworks with iconic Vans styles, our partnership brings Vincent’s art ‘Off The Wall’ and into the world to a new audience outside the museum.” The Van Gogh Museum will commit a portion of its profits from the collection to aid in the preservation of Vincent van Gogh’s legacy and sprawling oeuvre, so that they may be accessible for generations to come.
Appearing on an array of essentials from Vans are loyal recreations of some of the artist’s most recognizable works. Emblazoned across an array of cult-status Vans’ classic silhouettes – such as the Sk8-Hi and Authentic – as well as a selection of premium apparel styles, are some of Van Gogh’s most recognizable pieces: Sunflowers, Almond Blossom and Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman. The artist’s unmistakable self-portrait is also splashed across the front of an oversized tee. For the footwear collection, each sneaker is rendered with custom footbed art that mirrors Van Gogh’s distinct brush strokes, as well as dual branding from both Vans and the Van Gogh Museum. As an additional detail, every item from the program is also accompanied with a special hangtag that outlines historical facts behind the complementing artwork from Vincent Van Gogh.
The Van Gogh Museum x Vans collection is slated to drop on August 3. It will be available to shop at vans.com/vangogh, as well as at in-store at Vans retail stores and select stockists. The range will also be available for purchase at the museum shop at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, both on location and at its web store.
