Pharrell x adidas Originals Debut “SOLARHU” Pack in New Lookbook
Dropping on August 18.
After unveiling newly designed collaborative footwear from the “SOLARHU” pack — like the “MOTH3R” NMD Hu and Tennis Hu silhouettes — Pharrell Williams and adidas Originals have released the entire capsule in a new lookbook. The Fall/Winter 2018 collab is directly influenced by East Africa featuring prints and colors privy to the region.
The inspiration is apparent in the sneaker designs and the singular jacket which will also be a part of the drop. The eccentric TT FZ Jacket comes with a bold print emblazoned on the chest. Additionally, this piece is double layered and appears as a woven track top.
In the realm of footwear, the “MOTH3R” NMD Hu is accentuated with ribbed Primeknit fabric and features different phrases across the upper. Previously seen with the phrases “MOTH3R,” “3MPOW3R” and “M1L3L3” we finally get a full look at the finished designs. Rounding out the sneaker offerings are the colorful Tennis Hu iterations. Appearing in the lookbook are the red and yellow models expertly designed to appear as handmade.
In an official statement, Pharrell Williams explained the inspiration behind the capsule:
“Africa is a beautiful continent and the origin of civilization. Running is a state of meditation. Why not go back to the motherland and take inspiration from such a vivid and rich culture? Why not create a tribute to this incredible sport?”
