City Girls Drop Carnival-Themed "Period (We Live)" Video
The Miami natives also share a preview of their documentary ‘Point Blank Period.’
After making an appearance in Drake‘s New Orleans-set video for “In My Feelings,” the City Girls are back. In their latest visual for their single “Period (We Live),” the rap duo flaunts around Miami in colorful Carnival costumes. Throughout the video, both JT and Yung Miami are seen on the back of jet skiis and delivering their bars while on the beach. The video is packed with Miami flavor which is apparent in the glitzy bikinis, raunchy lyrics and Carnival band members seen in separate clips.
Also unveiled was a trailer for an upcoming Mass Appeal documentary, “Point Blank Period.” Directed by Marcus Clarke, the documentary follows the two rising stars along their new journey breaking into the heavily male-dominated music industry. Trina, one of Miami’s most influential artists who serves as a mentor for the two artists appears for a brief moment in the teaser. A poignant moment in the brief clip includes JT and Young Miami talking about JT’s prison sentence.
Last year, City Girls were signed to Quality Control Music which also represents Migos. Earlier this year the rappers released their critically acclaimed debut album, Period. Months later, the two were featured in a verse for Drake’s “In My Feelings” hit single off of his Scorpion album. This quite honestly catapulted both artists to another level. JT began her prison sentence the same day the single dropped, pointing to why Yung Miami was the only group member to appear in the video which was revealed last week.
