UPDATE:  The Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection will release on September 29 at adidas.

Since it was announced earlier this year, the Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection has had diehard fans of the beloved anime series waiting with bated breath for its highlight anticipated release. Now, an official look at the forthcoming release includes iterations of the ZX500 RM and Yung-1 silhouettes, designed after the characters Son Goku and Frieza, respectively.

The Yung-1 rework is particularly striking with its head-turning purple and white colorway. Inspired by its namesake character, the “Frieza” model is of course rendered after the villainous character who was feared for both his ruthlessness and power. For the shoe itself, the sneaker is constructed with an array of premium materials: leather, suede and corduroy. The resulting trainer is one that at once boasts covetable retro aesthetics, as well as a contemporary flare thanks to its widely recognized resemblance to the YEEZY 700. In addition to the overall purple and white palette, a light pink segment on the medial panel rounds off the likeness to Frieza – the character in his first form is seen with pink-toned limbs.

Although details are still sparse regarding an exact release date, the Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection is slated to drop in the beginning of August. Stay tuned here as we find out more.
