Karen Walker returns to the Fashion Month circuit as New York Fashion Week kicks into full gear. After a short hiatus, the designer unveils her color-filled Spring/Summer 2019 lookbook. Taking inspiration from an upstate New York apple orchard, Walker presents a collection featuring lush hues including brown, yellow and plaid.
The bright collection is also packed with dark nods to the 1973 film Badlands featuring the heroine Holly played by actress Sissy Spacek. The hints of darkness are seen in the mixture of the color white alongside hazy floral prints. Also driving home the point of a dark heroine theme are the Sunday-inspired full organza skirts and the silk bow-tied blouse coming with an apple tree print. We also notice Walker’s “Return to Sender” sunglasses from her recently released capsule, eye-catching flare denim, corduroy pieces and plaid outerwear options in the range.
