2 Moncler 1952 Reinvigorates the Classic Puffer Jacket for Its Latest Collection

The nostalgic range pays homage to famous ski resorts.

As part of its “Genius” program, Moncler has been teaming up with various designers to push its mandate forward and to breathe new life into its classic garments. Completely immersing itself into innovation and experimentation, the Italian label is consistently thinking of new ways to deliver boundary-pushing collections to its consumers. For its latest addition to the Moncler Genius roster, the label looks back to its heritage for inspiration.

Dubbed as the 2 Moncler 1952 collection, the program references the imprint’s origins established in a small village in the Haute Savoie mountains (in 1952, of course). Taking form in both men’s and womenswear, Moncler injects a youthful joviality into its apparel through an array of vibrant colors and eye-catching silhouettes. The brand’s iconic puffer jacket is reworked in both laqué and matte nylon materials, all boasting concentrated variants of colors such as bright orange, blue, red, purple and green. Tying the theme together is a faithful interpretation of the label’s alpine roots, reproduced in the form of outerwear, sweaters, padded scarves and patches, all paying homage to famous ski resorts such as Sankt Moritz, Aspen, Gstaad, Zermatt and Megève. In addition, an embossed comic strip appliqué detail serves as a subtle nod to ’80s culture.

The 2 Moncler 1952 collection is slated to launch on September 6 at Moncler’s website, as well as at boutiques and select stockists worldwide. You can take a look at some of the highlights from the range in the gallery above.
