Victoria Beckham Reprises Her Role as Posh Spice in Hilarious British 'Vogue' Short Film
“Spice up your life, Edward.”
Victoria Beckham is well aware that some people believe she never smile. In a new video produced by British Vogue, however, the singer-turned-designer proves those who think she doesn’t have a sense of humor utterly wrong.
Written and directed by Isaac Lock, the short film follows Beckham as she reprises her role as Posh Spice (she sports these Buffalo London platforms at one point) for an imaginary Vogue photoshoot. Without bursting into laughter, the “Wannabe” star delivers line after line of sarcastically funny jokes filled with clever references all Spice Girls fans will be able to pick up on. “This is where two fashion forces join to make something really quite incredible. This really is where two become one,” says Beckham with a stoic expression, while nonchalantly throwing in the iconic “2 Become 1” hand gesture. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury as well as British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful are also featured in the video for some comedic cameos.
The scripted short is part of a larger feature story for the publication’s October 2018 issue, which stars Victoria on the cover with her four children, Brooklyn Beckham, Romeo, Cruz and Harper Seven. Her husband David Beckham also appear in one of the images in the fashion spread. Head to British Vogue‘s website to learn more, and expect to pick up a copy of the issue when it hits newsstands on September 7.
Victoria Beckham will be celebrating her brand’s 10th anniversary at the upcoming London Fashion Week, where she’ll be presenting her Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
