Off-White™'s SS19 "Track & Field" Show Is Filled with Nike Swooshes

Virgil Abloh puts supermodels and real athletes on the runway.

For Spring/Summer 2019, Off-White™‘s Virgil Abloh is taking his collaboration with Nike to the next level. The Paris Fashion Week presentation, which saw the theme of “Track & Field,” was a masterful blend of elegant and sporty silhouettes. We previously had a glimpse of Abloh’s take on activewear by way of a custom tennis dress tailor-made for Serena Williams, and the Off-White™ founder continues to fuse fashion and sports in his SS19 collection.

In addition to a stellar roster of top models — familiar faces including Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Janice Dilone, Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn — Virgil Abloh has also cast a group of Nike athletes and Olympic medalists to grace the sports field-like runway. The sportswomen include Hong Kong high jumper Cecilia Yeung, British sprinter Dina Asher Smith, American high jumper Vashti Cunningham among other notable names.

The Nike Swoosh logo is reinterpreted as a pattern that covers a number of tops, leggings and bike shorts, while see-through jerseys are styled with feminine, frilly bottoms and leotards are meshed with larger-than-life tulle skirts. Responding to the neon color and animal print trends that are currently taking over fashion, Abloh also presented a lineup of fluorescent yellow, python patterned pieces towards the end of the show.

On the footwear side of things, Abloh has worked with Nike on a series of new collaborations including the React Vapor Street Flyknit silhouette, which is designed with a track spike bottom. Between the Nike kicks and Off-White™’s in-house sneaker designs, we also spy ballerina-inspired sandal heels coming in various colorways.

Take a look at every single look at Off-White™’s SS19 “Track & Field” runway show above.
