These Were the Five Most Popular Sneakers at the Scandinavian Fashion Weeks
See what the most stylish feet were wearing.
With the Scandinavian fashion weeks over for yet another season, we’re reflecting on some of the coolest looks seen in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm. Although surprisingly, flip flops seemed to be leading the way in an entirely new footwear trend that we’re not completely sold on yet, sneakers were also as rife as ever – most likely thanks to the Scandi focus on fashion-meets-function. Luckily for you, we narrowed it down to share just five of the most popular silhouettes we spotted throughout the past month – read on and get shopping.
Eytys Angel

Paul Jeong/HYPEBAE
Stockholm sweethearts Eytys proved a hit on home territory, with its signature bulky Angel silhouette seen on some of the city’s most stylish residents. Arriving in a selection of uppers, from suede to patent white leather (both of which were amongst the most commonly-spotted styles), the statement-making Angel has a knack for bringing an edge to any look. Cop a pair for yourself at Eytys.com for $330 USD.
adidas Originals Yung-1

Paul Jeong/HYPEBAE
adidas’ Originals newly-released Yung-1 is already a bonafide street-style hit, despite having only dropped a few short months ago. Undoubtedly, the orange colorway was the most in-demand, with navy/red/white version coming in a close second. As a comfortable and reasonably-priced take on the dad shoe trend, it’s no surprise the style-savvy are swarming toward the Yung-1 and with even more vibrant colorways set to release, we’re betting we’ll be seeing these beauts for a few seasons to come yet. Score a pair now at Offspring for $130 USD before they sell out.
Acne Manhattan

Paul Jeong/HYPEBAE
The second Swedish brand to make the list, Acne Studios has taken the sneaker world by storm with its Manhattan silhouette. A great mid-range sneaker that sits comfortably between mainstream and luxury brands, the bold-soled shoe is ideal for teaming with fitted skirts, floaty dresses and of course, denim. Stick to minimal tones like black or white, or go all-out on this pink pair at Browns for $500 USD.
Vans Old Skool

Paul Jeong/HYPEBAE
This classic style has found its way into almost everyone’s rotations over the last few years, thanks to its versatility and importantly; affordability. Although it’s been seen in a plethora of colors and finishes, with the option to even make fully custom ones at Vans‘ web store, the fashion week set’s go-to has and always will be the signature black canvas, white Sidestripe iteration. Pick up some for yourself for just $60 at Vans.com and most other sneaker retailers, or create your own trend with a truly unique version.
Balenciaga Triple-S

Paul Jeong/HYPEBAE
That ultra-oversized Balenciaga Triple-S sneaker shows no signs of its popularity waning anytime soon. Although it’s been a stalwart on the scene for the past few seasons, it was just as favored this summer – most likely due to the buyers’ hefty investment into these pricey, luxury kicks. We spotted these worn equally by men and women, paired with fits like tailored trousers, dresses and denim jeans. There are still some versions of these sell-out sneakers available over at MATCHESFASHION for $842 USD, but be quick.
