Burberry's Arthur Sneaker Is About to Become This Season's It-Shoe

The ultimate statement piece.

If you’ve been looking for the ultimate luxury sneaker to add to your seasonal rotation, Burberry has just released its new Arthur trainer which was first revealed in the label’s Fall/Winter 2019 show earlier this year. The new shoes are named after Arthur Wellesley, the 1st Duke of Wellington, who is known for transforming the wellington boot into an iconic piece in the early 19th century.

The shoe takes on the ever-growing chunky sneaker trend, boasting a modern shape and design that is accented with a polished rubber sole. The footwear pays homage to the classic wellington boot as well as water-proof galoshes worn by sailors, and combine fashion with utility. Arriving in a handful of colorways ranging from Riccardo Tisci‘s TB monogram to hues like red, silver and black, the Arthur trainer is the ultimate statement piece to invest in.

The Arthur sneaker is currently available for pre-order, and will arrive right before the holiday season in December. Peep the colorways in the gallery above, and for more from Burberry, peep the label’s new rainbow logo scarf here.
