Virgil Abloh Returns to Work at Louis Vuitton After Health-Related Leave
The designer announced his return with a selfie posted to his personal Instagram.
It appears Virgil Abloh is back in commission after a three-month-long hiatus precipitated by health-related concerns. The announcement of Abloh’s return comes in the form of a selfie — location-tagged as the Siège Louis Vuitton store in Paris — that the designer posted on his personal Instagram account. Over the weekend, Abloh also posted a series of videos to Instagram Stories of his visit to Vuitton’s Place Vendôme flagship, where he inspected the brand’s Fall/Winter 2019 deliveries.
Abloh revealed to Vogue in September that he was in the process of “shifting gears” due to unspecified health-related concerns. The designer was noticeably absent from his Off-White™ Spring/Summer 2020 show during his break, but Vuitton executives expect Abloh to be back in attendance at his Fall/Winter 2020 show during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in January.
