Just in time for Christmas, a new trailer for the much-anticipated Suicide Squad follow-up, Birds of Prey, has been unveiled along with a holiday greeting from the film’s cast members. Margot Robbie, who stars as Harley Quinn alongside Ella Jay Basco (Cassandra Cain), Rosie Perez (Renee Montoya), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Huntress) and Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Black Canary), hype us up for the upcoming release with a seasonal message and sneak peek at what’s in store for fans of the franchise.
Recently broken up with the Joker, Harley Quinn bands together with fellow heroines to protect Gotham City, as well as each other, from supervillain Black Mask. The team of women must triumph over various men who seek to take them down, including serial killer Victor Zsasz, played by Chris Messina. Judging from the trailer, the movie will include lots of action-packed fight scenes — as well as depictions of female friendship.
Birds of Prey is set to release on February 7, 2020. In related news, Megan Thee Stallion and Normani teased an upcoming collaboration for the film’s soundtrack.
