Marc Jacobs Celebrates 20 Years of 'Girl, Interrupted' with a Limited-Edition Collection

Peep the lookbook here starring BFA’s Model of the Year, Adut Akech.

Its been 20 years since the release of the iconic film Girl, Interrupted starring Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. In celebration of that, the movie franchise has collaborated with Marc Jacobs to create three limited-edition garments.

In conjunction with the collaboration, 100 percent of the profits from the collection will go to The Trevor Project – a non-profit organization dedicated to suicide prevention among LGBTQ+ youth. The range consists of a hoodie, a T-shirt and sweatpants featuring graphics and iconography from the movie conceptualized by Ava Nirui. The designer shared the project on her Instagram with the caption:

“This project is dear to me – this movie changed the way I viewed mental health at a very young age, which was massively beneficial to me as I was in the process of growing up under the guidance of a close family member with clinical depression. It really helped me become more accepting of her and others impacted by mental illness. I’m happy to have done this project with such an important organization.”

Take a look at the merch in the lookbook above that features BFA’s Model of the Year, Adut Akech and the gallery below. The Girl, Interrupted x Marc Jacobs collection ranges from $95 USD to $165 USD, which you can now purchase at Marc Jacobs stores and Marc Jacobs’ website.
