Bottega Veneta might have chosen to quietly unveil its Spring/Summer 2019 campaign, but the buzz surrounding the tasteful imagery suggests that the brand definitely deserves our attention this season. Now helmed by Creative Director Daniel Lee (formerly director of ready-to-wear at Céline), the Italian fashion house is entering an exciting new era where the meaning of luxury is redefined.

Ahead of Lee’s Milan Fashion Week debut, the designer has introduced two new handbag styles to Bottega Veneta: the Pouch and the Maxi Cabat.

Featuring an oversized shape, the Pouch is available in Butter Calf leather, Cocco Souple (composed of four skins), as well as Velvet Calf Intrecciato, characterized by the brand’s iconic Intrecciato weave pattern. The minimalist clutch also comes in a mini version dubbed the Pouch 20, named after the measurement of its length. Besides neutral tones like black, cream white and brown, the chic, under-the-arm accessory is also available in brighter, spring-appropriate hues such as a vivid red and green color.

Reinterpreting one of the storied brand’s signature designs, the Cabat, Lee has created a new handbag style called the Maxi Cabat. Thin strips of double-faced leather are replaced by 4cm-wide strips to give the perfect everyday tote a modern look. Like the Pouch, this unisex and timeless shopper also comes in a smaller version called the Maxi Cabat 30. In addition to the woven style coming in a number of different colors, the bag is also available in a Nero Soft Crocodile design and a Matte Calf model in understated tones.

For those who’re interested, both styles are now available for pre-order at bottegaveneta.com.

Daniel Lee will be presenting his Fall/Winter 2019 collection for Bottega Veneta on February 22.
