Meet Peggy Gou's New Brand, Kirin

The DJ and fashion icon is finally launching her own label.

The name Peggy Gou is one that’s been on everyone’s lips this season. The DJ, fashion icon and giraffe-lover has quickly made a name for herself through her impeccable style and dance-worthy mixes, and now Gou is embarking on a new creative journey.

The DJ and creative has just revealed her new label Kirin alongside New Guards group, which will feature high-end, high-octane streetwear taking inspiration from Gou’s personal style. Revealed at Paris Fashion Week, the debut collection combines bold color blocking with Korean mythological motifs and of course, club culture graphics. The name Kirin, which means giraffe in Korean, represents Peggy’s spirit animal and “a graceful counterpoint to the intensity of daily life.”

“When I really like what I am wearing, I have confidence anywhere I go. I want anyone who wears Kirin to feel confident. Kirin is for everyone,” said Gou about the launch. In addition to the playful graphics and ultra-bright faux fur hats, Gou has also included a twisted gun print designed by Jae Huh in the collection, as a message of non-violence.

Take a look at the first collection in the lookbook above, and stay tuned as we await an official release date.
