UPDATE: 'KAWS:HOLIDAY' Installation Has Officially Launched in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour
On display until March 31.
UPDATE: The KAWS:HOLIDAY Hong Kong installation by AllRightsReserved is officially on display at Victoria Harbour. At the opening, Brian Donnelly known by many as KAWS was in attendance and greeted his fans marking the arrival of the ultra-large sculpture exhibition.
You have until March 31 to check out the display. Take a closer at it below.
After launching a special KAWS’ Holiday installation in Seoul and Taipei, the enlarged structure is set to arrive in Hong Kong. This time around, the Companion which previously debuted due to a partnership with AllRightsReserved, will be a floating piece of art located at the city’s Victoria Harbour from March 22 to 31.
When speaking of the forthcoming collaboration, SK Lam, Creative Director and Curator of AllRightsReserved shared:
“In 2010, we collaborated [with KAWS] and first brought KAWS to Hong Kong. After almost a decade, we are very excited to bring this colossal outdoor artwork to Hong Kong, our hometown.”
The outdoor installation will arrive right in the middle of Hong Kong Arts Month, a special month dedicated to exploring art and cultural events throughout the city, including Art Basel Hong Kong. Similar to the previous KAWS:HOLIDAYs installations, a release of limited items will be for sale including a limited cushion, Companion bath toy, floating bed, tote bags and T-shirts.
Pricing ranges from $49 USD to $150 USD. The products will also be available online at Ding Dong Takuhaibin’s online store, beginning on March 22.
