Chanel's Cruise 2019 Makeup Collection Is Inspired by Tokyo and Seoul
Bronzers, highlighters and lipsticks that evoke the spirit of the fashionable cities.
Following the theme of its Spring/Summer 2019 range, Chanel Beauty continues to draw inspiration from East Asia for its Cruise 2019 makeup collection, titled “VISION D’ASIE: LUMIÈRE ET CONTRASTE.”
As suggested by its name, the new collection experiments with light and contrast to create spectacular textures and colors ideal for the upcoming summer season. “I wanted to capture the sensation of being in East Asia; the atmosphere there practically makes you vibrate,” Lucia Pica, Chanel Beauty’s global creative designer for makeup and color, speaks of her trip to Tokyo and Seoul in an official press release.
Inspired by the snapshots she has taken in both cities, Pica has dreamed up a range of products that are simultaneously sophisticated and easy to use. With a focus on subtle contouring and high-gloss accents, the collection features the new DUO BRONZE ET LUMIÈRE, a bronzer and highlighter compact that’s made up of peachy-beige and golden brown tones, as well as the LES 4 OMBRES eyeshadow palette, which comes packed with a mix of bronze, rose beige and caramel shades.
In the eye makeup department, we also see a trio of STYLO OMBRE ET CONTOUR perfect for creating a smoky eye look, as well as two OMBRE PREMIÈRE GLOSS shades great for achieving those editorial-like glossy eyelids.
The newly-released ROUGE COCO FLASH lipstick has been given two seasonal updates, coming in rosy beige and a dusty pink. For those who gravitate towards dewy lips, top it off with the ROUGE COCO GLOSS in the holographic “Fraîcheur” or the vibrant pink “Aurora.”
Finally, for the nails-obsessed, the collection also includes three LE VERNIS options in purply and pastel shades, including the soft lilac “Purple Ray” as pictured above.
The Chanel Cruise 2019 makeup collection will become available to shop online and in-store at Chanel Beauty locations beginning May 3.
