Nike Signs 21-Year-Old Tennis Champion Naomi Osaka to Endorsement Deal
She joins the Swoosh alongside Serena Williams.
Nike has signed tennis champion Naomi Osaka to an endorsement deal. The two-time Grand Slam winner and WTA No. 1 is one of the youngest players to have such success. At 21 years old Osaka joins Serena Williams as a Swoosh ambassador recently serving as the face for the brand’s billboard campaign. She shares her thoughts on the new partnership:
I’m proud to become a member of the Nike family and excited about getting involved in all of the opportunities Nike has to offer. Nike has a legendary track record of writing history and I look forward to being a part of those moments for many years to come.
Osaka’s new contract will begin this week with her appearance at the WTA Event in Stuttgart on April 22. The footwear giant did not share the worth of the new deal or how long the contract will remain. Osaka was welcomed to the Nike team by Lebron James and other Nike athletes at a Los Angeles event. Naomi also serves as the face for Japanese beauty company Shiseido.
Lost for words at this moment… I’m really grateful for this opportunity and I’m super excited for the future @Nike 🤗❤️ thank you pic.twitter.com/Zw2bwKqPse
