adidas Presents Inclusive "Love Unites" Pride Month Collection
Featuring Venus X, Flawless Shade and more.
The beginning of June marks the start of Pride Month, the global celebration of the LGBTQ+ movement and its historic legacy. Most recently, adidas Originals has debuted models of the Ozweego, Temple Run and the Continental 80 created with rainbow-inspired designs. Now, the sneaker and sportswear titan has launched its entire “Love Unites” campaign and collection. Proceeds from the campaign will support The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for youth of the LGBTQ+ community.
In an official statement, adidas’ Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Emmy Negrin shares more on the “Love Unites” launch:
“We believe through sport, we have the power to change lives. Real, positive change is possible when you harness the influence of sport. It’s on all of us to help create a world in which everyone feels safe and can show up as their authentic, unapologetic selves. We see you and we celebrate you, during Pride month and every single day all year long.”
Shown in the campaign are the UltraBOOST 19, Nizza, Ozweego, Continental 80, Temper Run and Adilette slides each arriving with bold rainbow details. The trainers mesh well with an assortment of colorful tracksuits, shirts and shorts that feature gradient logos and stitching throughout. Additionally, the range features an array of hats, bags and socks with Trefoil logo branding. The campaign features drag performer Flawless Shade, artist Ace Troy, Kiki House of Flora founder Brandon Harrison, musician The Last Artful, Dodgr, pro soccer player Taylor Smith and DJ Venus X.
Accompanying the capsule, adidas will partner with the Brooklyn Museum for a special First Saturdays event on June 1, presenting the works of 22 LGBTQ+ artists in homage to the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. adidas will also deliver Keith Haring-inspired Rivalry Hi, Nizza Hi and Stan Smith designs. Each will be emblazoned with the queer artist’s iconic black-silhouetted figures and bold hits of color.
