Debuting at the band’s upcoming LA show.
K-pop superstars BTS are kicking of the next leg of its “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour in style, with Dior‘s Kim Jones designing the band’s latest stage outfits. This news comes following BTS’ performance at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, where they also took home the award for Top Duo/Group.
According to WWD, the looks were inspired by Jones’ pre-fall collection which was shown in Tokyo. As such, utilitarian-style pieces like cargo pants and bomber jackets will fused with futuristic sportswear elements with Dior’s signature Oblique canvas making an appearance. Additionally, buckles designed by Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM and industrial hardware by AMBUSH’s Yoon Ahn will bring some contemporary edge to the looks. Discussing how the outfits came to live, Jones told WWD:
“They all have their personal taste and style and it works so well together. Each member of the group chose the look they wanted, and we worked very organically to create each look for them. It was very collaborative.”
The high-fashion outfits will make their stage debut at BTS’s show at LA’s iconic Rose Bowl on May 4, but you can take a look at the official sketch above. They’ll also be worn at upcoming tour dates in Chicago, New Jersey, São Paulo, London and Paris. In related news, have you seen the video for “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey yet?
