Off-White™, Gucci & Maison Margiela Design Exclusive Collection For The Met Museum Store
To honor the Costume Institute’s Spring 2019 exhibition, ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion.’
The Met Store officially reveals its newly designed “Camp Collection” in celebration of the Costume Institute’s Spring 2019 exhibition. The multi-designer store experience features products developed by Off-White™, Gucci, Maison Margiela, Marc Jacobs, Molly Goddard and Vaquera to name a few.
Virgil Abloh created a few streetwear pieces including a hoodie, T-shirt, sweatpants and large tote. Each of these items comes with large black branded typeface on the back. Marc Jacobs designed a black T-shirt, that features a graphic “Camp” across the front while Molly Goddard’s pieces are made up of a puffy orange and magenta shirt and two matching tulle handbags. Additional standouts include Vaquera’s oversized red and white pin.
Releasing alongside the collection are limited edition prints by artist Jane Kaplowitz. Kaplowitz prints are inspired by the likeness of key figures associated with the theme of camp, including Jean Paul Gaultier, Oscar Wilde and Susan Sontag. The artworks will be on display in the exhibition store, and in The Met Store Mezzanine Gallery.
“The Camp Collection” will be available at The Met Store and online on May 7. Check out our favorite picks in the gallery above.
