What Will Lady Gaga Wear to the 2019 Met Gala?
Here’s what we expect from the co-chair.
With the Met Gala only hours away, we’re getting ready to watch as celebrities from all over the world take on the red carpet dressed after this year’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” Last year we saw Rihanna, Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace co-host the event with Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, following the “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme. This year Serena Williams, Harry Styles, Gucci‘s Alessandro Michele and Lady Gaga are hosting, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll bring to the table.
Lady Gaga has previously attended two Met Gala’s in the past, “China: Through the Looking Glass” where Alexander Wang dressed the singer in a captivating black-and-white gown, as well as ”Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology” where she wore Versace. This year, she’s making a return after her two-year hiatus, and we know that what she has in store will be nothing short of incredible.
Of course, there’s yet no word as to what the singer will be wearing to the event, but as the gala creeps closer, Gaga has been posting everything from her outfits travelling to New York to her get-up from the pre-Met party on Saturday night. She wore a black-and-white dress from Marc Jacobs‘ Fall/Winter 2019 collection, complete with sky-high boots and a tiny bag from Delvaux – all following the camp theme, of course. While we’re still waiting to see the official red carpet look, our bet is that the star will show up in custom Gucci by fellow co-chair Alessandro Michele. If not Gucci we’re banking on Gaga wearing CELINE by Hedi Slimane, as she’s been one of the first people to debut the designers’ pieces since he took over the French fashion house.
