Gentle Monster x AMBUSH Launches Pop-Up in Seoul for FW19 Sunglasses Collab
Dropping with a limited edition T-shirt.
AMBUSH has partnered with South Korean eyewear label Gentle Monster to create sunglasses inspired by the energy and identity of both brands. Dubbed “Zip Tie,” the full-acetate frame sports a goggle-like silhouette and arrives in three colorways – blue, orange and white. Metal cable details are added to the center-front and both sides of the sunglasses to add contrast.
As explained by Yoon, creative director of AMBUSH, the brand’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection is inspired by David Bowie‘s film The Man Who Fell to Earth, and the “Zip Tie” was created to complement this mood in a “2019 way.” According to the designer, these sunglasses are for “everyone who want to see the world through new lenses. When you put these on, you feel different and you feel out of space. Looking forward to seeing how people will coordinate with these.”

Retailing at $350 USD, they will first launch at AMBUSH’s Shibuya store on July 6, followed by a Gentle Monster pop-up at its BAT store in Seoul from July 11 to 14, where a special limited-edition T-shirt designed for the drop of the “Zip Tie” will also be available to cop.
