'Euphoria' Is Returning For Season 2, The Cast Reacts
Be prepared for more angsty drama.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that HBO will be bringing Euphoria back for a second season. The series will star Zendaya as the main character Rue, and her struggles with drug addiction.
The entire series can be described as a drug-fueled whirlwind of adolescence angst, high school drama, raging hormones and the struggles of finding one’s identity. Created by Sam Levinson, the series is also produced by Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen and other prominent talent. While some have described it as Degrassi 2.0, season 2 should be a whole new frontier for the drama.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Programing’s Francesca Orsi had nothing but praise for the show.
“Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya. We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series. We look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit.”
After the news was announced, the cast took to Twitter to show their excitement. “Literally just got the call. Can’t say thank you enough for the support we’ve seen, wow,” Zendaya reacted.
Considering that Euphoria was renewed while it’s still airing, it’s understandable that the cast is more than thrilled.
