Louis Vuitton's Luxembourg & Rivoli Sneakers Get an Iridescent Makeover
Inspired by Virgil Abloh’s SS19 men’s show.
Louis Vuitton has updated its Luxembourg and Rivoli sneaker designs with iridescent LV Monograms. The design is inspired by Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2019 men’s show.
The Rivoli hi-top sneaker features the brightly colored monogram in the side panels and toe box. Ranging from gray-green to a pearl-esque blue sheen, the color is highly eye-catching. At the neck, we also see a branded Velcro strap wrapped entirely around. Finally, the design also features leather lining and branding at the sneaker’s tongue.
With the Luxembourg, the design is more subtle and focuses primarily on the sides of the shoe. We see the iridescent Monogram wrapped around the shoe, covering almost the entire design. The parts that aren’t are the black rubber sole and gold debasing on the tongue and heel.
Both of the sneakers feature a black leather base, but the almost-holographic detailing really transforms them from regular designs to show-stoppers. Whether you watched the runway show or not, wearing these on the street equals instant style credibility. Pair them with a skirt or ankle-grazing dress for an unconventional but chic #lotd outfit. If you’re really daring and don’t care about the situation, wear these to the gym to really turn heads. Not that we recommend working out in leather sneakers, but the sheer random act itself will get you attention.
Both the sneakers are also made in Italy, which means you’re getting unrivaled quality.
You can purchase the Louis Vuitton Luxembourg and Rivoli sneakers at Louis Vuitton’s website for $875 USD and $965 USD respectively.
