Nike Gives Its Polo T-Shirts a Tie-Dye Makeover

Muted pastels or bright neons?

Tie-dye just recently arrived on Nike‘s Air Force 1 ‘07 silhouette, and to continue the trend, Nike has created a T-shirt polo collection with its Skateboarding and Golf ranges. The unisex pieces are individually hand-dyed and therefore extremely limited.

The tie-dye polo collection comes in three colorways inspired by different athletes. “Prefontaine” pays homage to the late Steve Prefontaine who was an American track-and-field athlete. The T-shirt features a bright mix of multi-colored patterns to represent the runner’s rebellious nature. It’s finished with an embroidered Prefontaine patch in the shape of the athlete’s face.

The “Agassi” polo takes after tennis player Andre Agassi who was known for not only his championship-winning career but also for wearing bright colors on the court. Designed windbreaker-style, the T-shirt features two color-blocked neon shades. Last but not least, the “Pastel” short sleeve is dip-dyed with washed-out purple, pink and blue. The pastel colors are lifted from the fashion runway and feature a more gradient design.

Scroll through the lookbook above to take a closer look at the shirts. The polos will be available starting August 2 on Nike’s SNKRS app. In case you want to tie-dye tees of your own, here’s our easy guide for tye-dying.
