Nike and the National Women's Soccer League Have Extended Their Partnership Through 2022

Creating more opportunities for female athletes.

Following a range of fashion collaborations for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Nike has announced it will be extending its partnership with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) through 2022. This means the sportswear giant will continue to be the exclusive partner of all kinds of items from uniforms to equipment.

The two parties first linked up back in 2012, when Nike was a founding sponsor for the league. Nike Soccer’s North America GM Michelle Lobo expressed her enthusiasm in an official statement:

“We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with the NWSL to create even more opportunities to champion female athletes in their pursuit of greatness. We are committed to helping grow the game and are proud to continue the partnership, both in support of players and a growing fan base.”

Women’s soccer has been reaching its peak this year internationally through events like the Women’s World Cup which concluded last month with the United States taking the trophy home. Amanda Duffy, president of the NWSL, mentioned the partnership seeks to support female athletes. “The relationship with Nike aligns with our goals to strengthen the level of competition, as well as to support and develop female athletes as they continue to train and play at the highest level.”
