Nike Adorns the Dunk Low Disrupt "Forbidden City" With a Pearl Necklace

Take a closer look at the opulent detailing.

Nike took inspiration from Chinese royalty for its latest iteration of the Dunk Low Disrupt, dubbed “Forbidden City,” adding pearl detailing and wear-away uppers to the sneaker.

A string of faux pearls dotted with red and blue gems circles the collar of the shoe, while uppers are coated with wear-away paint in ice blue and white. Inspired by the snow that blankets jade statues outside of Chinese palaces and eventually melts away, the Dunk’s outer coating peels away to reveal vibrant shades of terra cotta orange and aquamarine. Additional nods to the Forbidden City, jade-colored outsoles and a marbled tongue tabs finish off the shoe.

The Nike Dunk Low Disrupt “Forbidden City” prices at ¥999 CNY (approximately $153 USD) at Nike SNKRS China.
