goyemon Creates Air Bubble-Equipped Traditional Japanese Sandals

Inspired by New Balance‘s classic 1300JP.

Last week, Japanese design company goyemon released its own modern take on Japan’s traditional bamboo-woven sandals dubbed Unda. For its latest iteration, goyemon has created a limited-edition pair in collaboration with online retailer DAN.

Inspired by New Balance‘s classic 1300JP silhouette, the slides feature a similar material and colorway as the sneaker. Its footbeds are made of soft grey-brown nubuck, while its strap arrives in a white and grey synthetic strap for a secure fit. The midsoles are made out of EVA foam while its heel is equipped with Nike-style air bubbles. Rounding out the shoe are the sleek black rubber outsoles and co-branded tags found above the heel.

The limited-edition DAN x goyemon Unda sandals retail for ¥24,200 JPY (approximately $220 USD) and is now available for pre-order on DAN’s website which is expected to ship sometime in June.
