5 Things You Need to Know About Saint Laurent's FW20 Show in Paris

Latex conquered Anthony Vaccarello’s designs this season.

Situated right across the iconic Eiffel Tower, Saint Laurent hosted its Fall/Winter 2020 show at Paris Fashion Week this year on the stunning grounds of Fontaine du Trocadero. Anthony Vaccarello‘s looks included a diverse range of silhouettes arriving in different shades of black, red, green, purple, yellow and blue. However, one material stood out on the runway: latex.

Familiar faces walked down the catwalk sporting Vaccarello’s new designs including Kaia Gerber and Adut Akech. Additionally, a number of celebrities like BLACKPINK‘s Rosé, Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz and more were spotted in the show’s front row.

Location

Saint Laurent went all out this season and presented its FW20 collection right in front of Paris’ iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower. All guests were seated facing the runway in one direction, while models walked down the catwalk cloaked in their very own spotlights.

Collection

Latex dominated Vaccarello’s FW20 collection arriving in surprising pops of vibrant colors. In his postshow notes, the designer explained that his aim for this line was to channel a Saint Laurent ’90s-inspired nightlife look, which he described as “well-behaved and overly bourgeois elegance.” Other than latex, impeccably tailored blazers and jackets were seen on the runway paired with pencil skirts, chic scarves and thigh-high boots.

Beauty

Some models rocked a classic bold red lip, while others were given a soft burgundy hue, courtesy of YSL Beauty. Hairstyles ranged from slicked-back buns to edgy, punk bangs to complement the collection’s theme.

Accessories

Oversized gold-toned earrings and chain necklaces conquered this season’s jewelry selection. Earrings arrived in a variety of shapes including hearts and flowers, while necklaces featured accents of black stones in the center.

Attendance

This year’s front row saw the likes of BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Hailey Bieber, Lenny and Zoë Kravitz, Lily Collins, Rami Malek and Kit Harrington. Netflix stars were also spotted at the show including 13 Reasons Why‘s Tommy Dorfman and Stranger ThingsJoe Keery.
