Making it the only app to amass 315 million downloads in one quarter.
Social media platform TikTok has become one of the most used apps, officially exceeding 2 billion downloads according to a report by analytics company Sensor Tower. The video-based app has amassed over 315 million downloads in App Store and Google Play in Q1 2020, which marks the highest number of downloads for any app in one quarter.
TikTok has seen a surge in downloads due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with users finding creative ways of creating and participating in challenges across the platform. In terms of downloads, India takes the lead with 611 million downloads, followed by China with 196.6 million (of its local version, Douyin). At third place is the United States, making up for 165 million downloads.
