Nintendo Switch Sales During Quarantine Top Records
As video games become the go-to quarantine pastime.
Global sales of popular gaming console Nintendo Switch have reached 55.77 million units, surpassing combined lifetime sales of both the Nintendo N64 and GameCube.
As video games become a popular form of quarantine entertainment, Nintendo reports a 33 percent increase in Switch sales for Q2 of 2020. This increase also likely owes to the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, back in March. The company sold a whopping 11.77 million copies of the hit game in just over a month, beating out fellow favorites Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Super Mario Party, solidifying its status as the Switch’s seventh highest-selling title.
