Instagram Is Launching an In-App Selling Tool

Allowing users to create their own shop through the platform.

Instagram has just revealed that it will be introducing a new feature, this time allowing creators to add a “Shopping” option in their profile. The new form of commerce allows users to sell everything from merch to crafts, art and more, all through the app. As of now, the new feature is set to debut early July, and will require those hoping to use the feature to apply for eligibility.

It remains to see what the new function will look like, as well as the details of the selling, but the new move could be mimicking the success of platforms like Etsy and Depop, where individual users are able to publish and sell clothes, art and anything in-between.

If you’re looking to learn more about the new feature, as well as apply for Instagram Shopping, you can visit Instagram’s page here.
